Original Oil on Linen - Cutts & Case Shipyard

DESIGN. BUILD. RESTORE. MAINTAIN

Founded in 1965 by legendary yacht designer and builder Eddie Cutts Sr. and IBM executive and computer pioneer John Case, Cutts & Case Shipyard’s success and reputation is based on these core tenets: Experience counts.
Details matter. Quality is its own legacy.

Debra Huse loves painting at this fabulous and historic location. This nautical and colorful painting depicts the water side of the shipyard where the “rails” are. The historic sailboats and powerboats are hauled for repair on the old railroad rails. The term for this hauling out is “On the Hard” referring to the boat being out of the water.

Notice the complimentary colors of the red and green, and the reflection of the building in the hull. It doesn’t get any better than that, for inspiration, for a plein air painter. This work is imbued with thick oil paint passages and stunning brushwork. This painting was exhibited in the Academy of Art Museum In Easton, Maryland.

Historic Shipyard is 12x16 unframed, but includes a beautiful hand-made dark frame with a gilded (gold) inner fillet. The frame is easily substituted to fit the design of your home.
